BPA Inc/ACFE AUDIT REPORT
As some members of the Community may be aware the Bendoc Progress Association Inc ACFE activities were recently audited after complaints were received by The Office of Employment, Training and Tertiary Education. Mr. Neil Maher was appointed to carry out the audit and the following is an extract from his report. The full report may be viewed at the Coordinator's office at Bendoc.
“2. CONCLUSIONS
2.1 After studying the financial records and statements produced
by the BPA, I have formed the opinion that the BPA has complied with the
requirements of the ACFE Board with respect to registration and funding
requirements.
2.2 After studying the financial records and statements produced by
the BPA, I have formed the opinion that the BPA has been, and is presently,
financially viable.
2.3 After studying the written complaints provided to me by the Office
of Employment, Training and Tertiary
Education, together with examination of the records of the BPA related
to those complaints, and discussions held with the complainants, the BPA
and some of the students
and other persons involved in the activities, I have formed the opinion
that there is no evidence to support the complaints.”

Bendoc Rural Transaction Centre to go Ahead
Press Release 6 May Sunday 2001
The Bendoc Progress Association Inc has been vindicated in its plan
to have a Rural Transaction Centre established in Bendoc. After applying
for and receiving a Federal Government grant for the project work was stopped
when a few people raised concerns regarding the need for an RTC in their
town. After a review of the situation Senator Ian McDonald has now given
the go ahead for the project. The Bendoc Progress Association Inc believes
the concerns of the objectors have been met with two of the original objectors
now forming part of the RTC Advisory Committee.
The Bendoc Progress Association Inc would like to put the differences
of the two groups behind them and move forward. This project will be a
benefit for the town and in the years ahead it will be seen as worthwhile
and progressive. Everyone will be encouraged to use the Centre and it is
hoped that it will not remain a static service but will grow to meet the
changing need of the township.
