Mayor Vardon, of the Eurobodalla Shire Council was quoted on ABC news today that he had severe reservations about the charcoal plant. His council had no say in whether the plant went ahead or not. His main concern was the increased heavy traffic in the area and if the plant went ahead he would be seeking additional road funding from the State Government.

A group of people concerned about the possible health effects of the charcoal plant attended an afternoon tea with Jenny Macklin, Shadow Minister for Health, hosted by Steve Whan. Jenny had not been briefed on the charcoal plant issue.
