NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service EIS Submission
"The EIS needs to be supplemented with additional material to meet the Director General of Planning's requirements in relation to Aboriginal cultural heritage and fauna and flora assessment. The NPWS considers the information provided is not sufficiently adequate to permit an informed decision in regard to the potential impact of the proposal on what is potentially an important natural and cultural setting. Critical areas such as the impacts on threatened species and their habitat, wetland ecological values and Aboriginal sites haven't been investigated to an appropriate level."

CLARIFICATION STATEMENT FROM THE CHARCOALITION

You will have read in other articles that the Eurobodalla Shire Council will appeal against the decision by the Carr Government if the community decides.

Meanwhile, The Coastwatchers Association Inc. Charcoalition will be lodging a separate appeal to the Land & Environment Court that will be funded by donations from the community to "The Coastwatchers Charcoalition legal fighting fund". There have been many generous donations already but the community and businesses need to dig deep into their pockets and continue to donate to this fund at any IMB branch, or send cheques to:
The Treasurer
Charcoalition fighting fund
PO Box 521 Batemans Bay NSW 2536

Charcoalition will cooperate with Council (and other appellants) should the community decide that council should to go to court.

Please direct all queries about the fighting fund to Charcoalition Treasurer Margaret Allen at mogocharcoal@bigpond.com or Ph: 02 4471 2512

In the NSW Legislative Assembly today, Mr R. H. L. SMITH: asked the Premier "Will the Premier now apologise to the 17-year-old cadet journalist from the Eurobodalla Sun newspaper for allowing the Premier's office to falsely accuse him of making up a statement by the Premier that the Mogo charcoal plant was "going ahead—end of story", when evidence of a statutory declaration and a witness shows that the Premier did make such a statement?" The Premier answered "No".
