WATER

See Water Issues and the Mogo Charcoal Plant for detailed information about water pollution

About 1 megalitre of water is required each week to run the plant.

Water is recycled so to stop contaminants building up, water is bled into biological treatment tanks where bacteria supposedly break down contaminants. Cleaned water fed back into cooling system. Eurobodalla Shire Council is keen to have sewage effluent used by the plant, piped from the Tomakin treatment plant through wetlands, but this will depend on its quality and the Environmental Impact Study on how to get it to the site. The Tomakin plant could not supply sufficient water.

It will probably have to use the town water supply - can the water supply cope with this demand?
