Request for an Extension of Time for Submissions on the Draft Local Environmental Plan

Dear Mr Anderson

We are asking that the exhibition period for the Draft Local Environmental Plan be extended for at least another two weeks. In the past such complex and important documents have had a three month exhibition period.

This Draft is more comprehensive than previous ones and understanding it certainly takes more than a swift reading and brief examination of the maps. After all the years of hard work by Council staff it seems only reasonable that interested members of the community be given time to digest the final product.

Our members are particularly interested in the Draft and want the Association's submission to reflect their views. Unfortunately our quarterly meeting is on Saturday 13 June. The main topic of discussion will be the Draft LEP but we will need time to collate the points raised and ensure they are included in our comments.

We hope you will see fit to extend the exhibition period for another two weeks at the very minimum.
