GUILT TRIPPING

Well your wife and kids they left you
Thirteen months ago
When they found out 'bout that little girl
You'd known a day or so
Now you're living in a caravan
Feeling sorry for yourself
Watching TV families
While your own sits on the shelf

But your guilt tripping
Ain't gonna help no one
No that guilt tripping
Ain't gonna help no one

Yeah and you were on that jury
That sent that man to die
Though there weren't all that much evidence
You were sure he'd done the crime
Now it seems he wasn't even there
But of course it's too late now
Seems you didn't check the details
The where and when and how

But your guilt tripping
Ain't gonna help no one
No that guilt tripping
Ain't gonna help no one

This old country's built on murder
But the bones are real well-hid
Now they're shovelling the money
For to weigh that coffin lid
But it's too late now to stop the blood
And rage and grief and tears
Ain't no amount of money
Gonna hold back all those years

And your guilt tripping
Ain't gonna help no one
No that guilt tripping
Ain't gonna help no one
