LIONS ROAR

And she came quiet as a seashell
Then loud as lion's roar
Up the steps of his grey mansion
To knock upon his door

And she found him in the attic
Shivering and alone
Wrapped him in a cloak of green silk
Each thread with magic sewn

And she took him to the ocean
Along a beach of shells
To where a boat shaped like a spiral
Sat gently on the swell

And he looked to see a stranger
Familiar 'neath that veil
As she took his hand and warmed it
And wind embraced the sail

And the waves came in and drenched them
Fierce winds blew from the west
But he feared no earthly danger
Sheltered beneath her breast

'Til an island rose from water
And sun arose from sea
Was a rainbow o'er the mountain
And birds in every tree

And they lived upon the island
Far from the world of men
Each day gave life to each other
Laughed and remembered when

When she came quiet as a seashell
Then loud as lion's roar
Up the steps of his grey mansion
To knock upon his door
