MOON FISH

Born of a union of magic and mystery
Careless of human concerns and history
Walking on little known paths and tracks she
Wants to show him

Moon fish swimming towards a moonlit sea
Moon fish searching for a place to let her be

Round as a shell and sharp as a razor blade
Child of the woods on an ongoing escapade
Neither by factory or man has she been made
But she knows him

Moon fish swimming towards a moonlit sea
Moon fish searching for a place to let her be

Thrown on the mercy of children and crazy men
Caught in a net told to break if she will not bend
Broken and bruised still there's nothing that cannot mend
So she goes to him

Moon fish swimming towards a moonlit sea
Moon fish searching for a place to let her be

Rainbow is faint so she looks inside instead
Finding the violet, gold and green, blue and red
Gasping for breath in the rolling waves he treads
But she flows to him

Moon fish swimming towards a moonlit sea
Moon fish searching for a place to let her be

Hard on the trail of the way back to yesterday
Only tomorrow will know if she finds the way
Can't help but wonder where her head might be today
So she shows him

Moon fish swimming towards a moonlit sea
Moon fish searching for a place to let her be
