SILVER THREAD

Far away 'cross the ocean
High above every cloud
All alone in the quiet times
On the stage ringing loud
In the metro on the last train home
On the edge of the deep
Feel that silver thread catch me
Keep me safe while you sleep

One time high on a mountain
Couldn't find my way down
Cliffs on three sides yawning
Ice and mist all around
Light shone up from a lake below
Showed me which way to go
Felt that silver thread catch me
Led me back to your door

When you're out on the highway
Miles to go 'fore you rest
Far away from a warm bed
And the one who loves you best
Lost in some savage whirlpool
Demons fight for your soul
Feel that silver thread catch you
It will keep you whole

Just because they can't see it
Doesn't mean it's not real
Silver thread keeps us connected
A kiss will be our seal

Long as a childhood summer
Strong as a mighty tree
Thin as a leaf in autumn
Light as a springtime breeze
Let it out when we're parted
Keep it close when we're home
Silver thread keeps us joined now
One and one are not alone
