TRUSTING SOUL

[Slow acoustic feel].

The lucky child was young and wild
'Til she was reined in
Taught how to act but never reconciled
To the state of things
But still a light kept burning bright
Deep inside
Her spirit sheltered her
Kept her alive
It would not be denied

Bad old world it knocked her down
Just like a wave
And so she swam
Diving deep down
Into a cave
Oh yes, a warm dark cave

And he tells her as they tumble and they roll
Don't you fear now, they can't keep you from your goal
All you have to do is keep on trusting soul

[cello solo].

She hurts inside as forests die
And men grow rich
She builds a shield and sews a cloak
In magic stitch
She sails a boat of dreams and hope
Upon the sea
She roams about so restlessly
But is not free
Is not yet free

And he tells her as they eat from the same bowl
That without her he can never quite be whole
So she must remember to keep on trusting soul

Yes she must remember to keep on trusting soul
