Wave sailors and kite surfers from Australia and overseas enjoyed four days of great wind and weather for the 22nd annual classic held from 21st to 24th November 2002.

 The 227 competitors came from Germany,South Africa, Spain, Canada, USA and Hawaii, Fiji and New Zealand as well as all around Australia.

Wave sailing and kite surfing sessions were held at Merimbula,Pambula Beach and Tathra Beach in winds from 10 to 20 knots.

John Smythe and "The Club" were in top form ...with Algy Grudd (a legendary 60's surfer lauded for his surfing ability in many surfing magazines) providing vital sustenance to the spoilt contestants all weekend. They seemed to always throw in a smile for good measure.
