Social Activities
The Club often has functions on Friday evenings for Members and their Guests. Nibbles, raffles and good company ... a good night for families. The Club is licensed with a selection of cold beverages and soft-drinks available at the bar. Bring the kids, get your fish and chips from next door or cook your own meat on our BBQ (no cost) or buy a sausage sandwich from our popular sausage sizzle. Maybe win a voucher or two to spend at local businesses in the raffle.
We hold a number of social events during the year. The Christmas Party is always a great success - prawns, oysters, chicken, ham, different types of salads, trifles, Christmas pudding, Christmas cake, fruit, cheese, well, what can we say! We’ll use any excuse for a social gathering - in fact, if anything can be celebrated, we’ll do it! New Year’s Eve, Australia Day and not forgetting our Ladies Day - the one day of the year the lady members sit down and are waited on by the men (who also do the catering).
Finally, in the years the club has operated, we’ve seen the premises refurbished and renovated to a high standard, now able to accommodate many more members and their guests in comfort. A previous renovation to the “Full Deck” resulted in a larger under-cover area allowing for all-weather usage. The most recent addition is removable or adjustable covers providing further protection of the area from wind and rain. This is of great benefit during a “bad weather” convention when it becomes almost impossible for everybody to fit inside the club house. Improvements have been made to the kitchen area and a new, larger stove installed.
